Applying for FirstCard

Who can apply?
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people across Australia. FirstCard is free to join.
How do I prove I’m Mob?
Three respectful pathways: upload a Confirmation of Aboriginality letter, give a community reference (an Elder, leader or recognised community member), or self-declare in your own words. None is a lesser option.
What if I don’t have a Confirmation of Aboriginality letter?
That’s fine — you can apply with a community reference or by self-declaration. This is especially welcome if you’re reconnecting with your heritage.
How long does review take?
Applications are reviewed by real people — not an automated system — usually within 7 business days. We’ll email you when your card is ready.
Is it really free?
Yes. FirstCard is $0 to join, forever. We never ask for payment details.

Using your FirstCard

How do I get my card after approval?
Once approved, you sign in to your member account to access your digital card and offer details.
Is FirstCard a government ID?
No. FirstCard is not a government ID or proof of identity — it’s a free member discount card.
I forgot my login.
Use the “Reset password” link on the Member login page and follow the email instructions.
How do I update my details?
Sign in to your member account to update your contact details any time.

Where are the offers?
We’re adding partner offers now. You can preview the kinds of offers coming, and full redemption details unlock for approved members. See Member Offers.
How do I redeem an offer?
It depends on the partner — some are online, some in-store. Each offer explains how, and discounts are applied at the partner’s discretion under their terms.
Can I share my card with family or friends?
No — your FirstCard is for your personal use only.

Privacy & safety

Your information

What information do you collect, and how is it protected?
Only what’s needed to confirm eligibility and run your membership. Your eligibility information is treated as sensitive personal information and is never sold or shared for marketing.
Who can see my eligibility information?
Only our small review team. Partners never see it — when you use an offer, a partner only sees your name and member ID.
How long do you keep my data?
If you cancel, your information is deleted within 90 days. You can request a copy of your data, which we provide within 30 days, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Can I opt out of emails?
Yes — every email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can manage preferences in your account.

How does my business offer a discount?
Submit your offer on the Submit an offer page. It’s free, and our team reviews it with cultural care before it goes live.
Is it free for partners?
Yes — listing an offer is free, and we never take a commission on sales.
